They play at the edge of
the Sea,
setting
aside all the anxieties
of
day-to-day so much to do—
They play, and yet they
see
the
Sea
further out.
But that further out,
further out,
do
they realize that the dream
they
would pursue
—to fulfill that dream
they imagine
is theirs to pursue—
they
must develop other lungs,
other
limbs, other eyes for depths,
another
vast water life,
or
they drown.
—Or they play a day
at
the edge of the Sea.
