Our Light

I say it is a terrible thing that others attempt to limit

        who you are,

think to predefine what you are capable of,

deny in you what you aspire to,

what it is you are called to do,

your reason for being alive on this planet

                 at this time—

Others think to intimidate you, cut you down, label you,

        put you in a box.

Others think they can ignore you & that you will simply go away

        & disappear—

Why is it that others think they know all about you already?

Others do not know what is in your soul, what your Calling is.

They do not see what you see, though if they were willing

to work together with you, they might come to see

        what you see.

You have heard what they say:

        You cannot think that.

        You cannot say that.

        You cannot do that.

        You cannot go there.

You cannot be so magnificent as that.

Who do you think you are to be so magnificent as that?

Why is it that others want to keep us small?

Why is it that others assume all greatness is in the past?

Why did our teachers & professors tell us that,

as if to condition us to that?

We are no longer capable of being great, they said,

We are a people without passion.

And sometimes others will say,

        Be humble. Learn humility.

        Beware of ego.

Are others aware of how, untold numbers of times, we’ve been humbled

        in our life?

Are others aware it is Higher Self wanting to speak through us,

not our socially propped up, conditioned ego?

Why should we hide our Light? This world desperately needs more Light.

        This world needs your Light.

We are here to shine in our magnificence, to speak with passion,

to be a manifesto of Fire to ignite this world.

We are tremendously more gifted with Higher Self potential

        than we ever realized,

more than we had ever conceived—

When we align ourselves with Higher Self, we see firsthand,

we know for ourselves, we speak with authority.

No individual, no peer group, no committee, no organization,

no special interest, no church, no goverrnment,

has the right to deny in another the full expression

        of Divine Selfhood.

I speak of a new right that is ours today as we enter the New Age:

It is our right to the full expression of our creatively glorious

        Divine Selfhood

                                     embodied,

                                                        on this Earth.
