Have you noticed?

Have you noticed at times that things can get

so much larger, sharper, more all-surrounding,

so much more present?

As if I had been looking through a squint all this time,

suddenly my sight is corrected to let things

show me

their enormous coming-into-view.

As if it is I breathing out there among the buildings,

trees, streets & cars & all the people coming & going;

& the sky, the clouds, the ground under my feet

my very flesh,

as if I am echoing my substance back to myself,

but impacting myself so soundly that my senses throb

with the blows—
