Why I Favor

 

ET Intervention

Undoubtedly there are those who have given some thought to the possibility of ET intervention in human affairs. In the following I present a brief statement as to why I favor such intervention today (setting aside the thesis that it has actually been an ongoing influence down through history). Many must certainly know the sentiments that I will be expressing; I believe it is only a matter of time before more and more will be openly sharing this same view. (UFO contactees and the fringe organizations often built around them, various channels, and a number of researchers in the UFO community, have been saying for years much the same as my statement here.) There is naturally a deep undercurrent of implications here that lead into various philosophical and investigative directions.

 

First, it should be kept in mind that intervention can cover a broad range of possibilities. Intervention does not by any means have to imply an obvious show of force by ETs, or any grand worldwide announcement by them that we must change our ways. It does not necessarily imply, therefore, a clear-cut redirecting interference in our global human affairs. Even the possibility of what we might think of as simple, publicly acknowledged contact-which many of us believe must certainly come-, in which ETs, in some manner, show themselves to us in a global sense, would, in itself, have tremendous, evolutionary impact. In a world that has become totally human centered, with no collective acceptance of an Other Intelligence, and one indeed which has already been watching our planet for sometime, if not since the very beginnings of prehistory, the irreversible chain of events that would unfold as a result of any open contact would ipso facto entail an intervention. A profound rupture in business as usual on planet Earth would be inevitable. On the other hand, however, intervention could already be occurring on a more subtle level. The superhuman capabilities of the ETs, both technological and psychospiritual, would, we can assume, allow them to intervene in human affairs without mainstream society even having a clue as what was happening. The conventional corridors of power on Earth would be bypassed, in other words, in favor of individual and small group contact, and that itself occurring in any number of ways. Many of us in the UFO community would claim that this, in fact, is going on already.

 

So as there is no misunderstanding, it is important that I state that intervention in the sense that I favor it would imply an evolutionary advancement for us, the start of a new chapter in the unfolding Story of who we are on planet Earth. It is what I often call the evolutionary intention at the heart of humanity. ET intervention, as I favor it, would corroborate this intention, not deny it, and would not send us into any kind of devolving downward spiral. The whole issue relating to this of so-called "good" ETs and "bad" ETs is a complex one that is far more fuzzy than many would like to think, or could possibly imagine; I myself try not to think in simplistic human categories of "good" and "bad" when considering the larger metaphysical and evolutionary themes of contact with a cosmic community of Other Intelligence.

 

Planet Earth is in serious trouble on various fronts. From traditional conflicts and wars that given today's technologies are always potentially threatening to unleash weapons of mass destruction, to global populations increasingly taxing Earth's current limited resources-energy, food, and water determining wars-, to the poisoning of ecosystems everywhere by the rampant use of toxins, including the possible dying of the oceans, and global warming promising to wreck havoc on all of Earth's ecosystems, it is increasingly a picture of a planet in crisis. There is no need here to detail any of this further: It has been researched, explicated, reported on, by so many others by now that we must all be aware of the potential future we face. I suggest that because of what we face in the coming years we truly do need outside help-the intervention of ETs, that is to say Other Intelligence.

 

Let us reflect upon this for just a moment: The suffering that takes place on this planet on a day by day basis is already overwhelming. It will be almost unbearable to witness what may still be coming. To offhandedly comment that this has always been a planet of suffering only rationalizes the failures of the Established Order. Let us be blunt about it-needless suffering by the peoples of Earth is no longer acceptable. The Established Order itself is no longer acceptable.

 

A clear change in the Established Order is called for. That is because the Established Order, represented by leadership in all the upper echelons of society, is, if we are really honest about it, doing nothing, or nothing nearly even sufficient enough, to turn the current direction of human affairs around, which is to imply, to turn itself around. The Established Order promotes what is obviously status quo. That is why the Established Order and the status quo come to mean the same thing. The Established Order will do whatever it deems necessary to maintain the status quo control of this planet. (That the Established Order is playing to the game plan of behind-the-scenes Secret Controllers of the planet is something further to explore, involving conspiracy theorizing on some level, but I shall set that aside for what my limited purpose is here.)

 

It should come as no surprise to us to realize that the Established Order is slowly moving society into a total management state by what I refer to as Technos-an eventual globally interlocking system of technological control, managed by Secret Controllers, of all human activities on planet Earth. We see this threat to human freedoms becoming everywhere apparent today. No psychic prophecy-making is necessary to see the trend that is unfolding before our eyes. This is no longer merely an already well-known science fiction scenario; it is the actual future we are facing if we continue down this road under the dominance of Technos. The ETs-and I am thinking particularly of those who have advanced significantly spiritually-may very well be able to inspire us towards more of an integration of technology and spirituality, in which our spiritual "Higher Self" is able to work with and balance all the technological developments-the whole notion of a coming singularity-that are rapidly taking place. That technology and spirituality might someday merge in creatively unforeseen ways is what the ETs themselves demonstrate as having already attained.

 

Human efforts alternative to the Established Order, such as grassroots activism, can apparently do little to reverse the mainstream trend. This, of course, is no excuse for apathy and do-nothingism, but we would certainly wish the noble efforts of activism could be otherwise. Environmental movements, for example, as commendable as they are, are not making significant enough impact. It appears that protesting, of any kind, does little to turn around the relentless headlong rush towards an ever-increasing Postmodern, nihilistic, techno-materialism that marginalizes and disempowers all other points of view.

 

Traditional political revolution, by itself, is no longer an option, or, let us say, not a progressive option. (By this I mean something more, for example, than only a new Administration.) We had learned that already in the 20th Century. Political types of revolution, taking it to the extreme of the violent overthrow of a government, typically unleashing only another round of human suffering and resulting in an oftentimes equally oppressive Establishment as the one a country had previously, are up against too well-entrenched of an Established Order. The Established Order today, bolstered by an effective secret government/military complex, is too powerful, too well-armed, wielding a new generation of weaponry the public is scarcely even aware of, to even attempt to aggressively confront. We sense everywhere, at least at this time, that there is no longer a collective will for this kind of revolution to begin with.

 

Our religious traditions are largely irrelevant, or indifferent, and certainly inadequate, to the crisis of our times. As we all must realize, religious Fundamentalism, in particular, of any kind, actually plays its own collective part in pushing forward this crisis. Those loyal to the great world religious traditions are not initiating on their own any sort of revolutionary change that is being called for; it has become apparent that the great world religious traditions have been relegated to cultural coping systems within the Established Order. Religions, at least traditionally, by their very nature, are themselves resistant to change.

 

The New Age movement, given that it is truly Spirit inspired, is still in its very early days. It would be presumptuous to claim that it has already played itself out and is dated. The important point is that the New Age movement welcomes the impact of open ET intervention, which would as a result impel the New Age evolutionary intention forward as the new, needful direction of this planet. Lightworkers all do see the evolutionary import of ET contact. They, especially, are apt to be the ones working with ETs in the various subtle ways that I earlier hinted at.

 

It has to become apparent to us, then, that humankind, on its own, is nowhere ready to radically turn things around on planet Earth. Year after year goes by and we see no collective will to change a course that was already set long ago by the apparent juggernaut of an Established Order.

 

Now it is likely, however, that the ETs will not dramatically step in to "save us" quite yet, whatever that might mean on the collective level. We should keep in mind that what happens on the global, collective level at any given time and what the evolutionary intention entails do not necessarily run parallel at all points. For example, despite our previous World Wars, which the ETs curiously had not stepped in to prevent, the evolutionary intention of humanity might have had a setback but did not die out. Yet, now that nuclear weapons have proliferated to such a degree of collective madness, we would certainly hope that the ETs would intervene if there were any threat of a start of nuclear war. Other critical trends on this planet could also get much worse. But it may very well be the only way that the collective ego of humankind could be humbled enough, thereby receptive enough, to openly welcome contact and invite such an intervention that would change the self-destructive course we are on. Let us hope that we do not engage in foolish military attempts of a type of Star Wars hostility to possible contact.

 

My obvious assumption has been that the ETs, that is, the ETs who have themselves evolved to a great spiritual degree, and who have been watching us for sometime, would intervene in human affairs for the evolutionary intention, for the ultimate benefit of humankind. Short of spelling out all the philosophical reasons I see underlying my saying that, that assumption has been simply implied here as a matter of course. Therefore I favor such intervention in whatever radical or subtle ways it may take place. It may indeed require on our part just such an openness, a conscious invitation to them, for the ETs to step up their efforts of helping us through the dangerous times ahead so that civilization on Earth might not only survive but be given a boost to the next level of the human Story. I risk making my assumption for the profound dissatisfaction I have had with the contemporary Established Order that has certainly been implied here. Again, more and more will undoubtedly come to understand and agree with that of which I speak.
